It all happened about 30 years ago (give or take a few days depending on the current date)…
So, according to what my mother told me (and from what I’ve learned in various sex ed classes), I came into the world under some pretty gnarly circumstances. Giving birth has never been one of those things that I thought of as a beautiful event. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure that childbirth is one of those things that’s memorable and fulfilling and all that jazz. What I don’t understand is how squeezing something the size of a basketball out of a hole the size of a golf ball earns the word “beautiful”.
There in lies your first glimpse into my thought process. If the above paragraph has at least made you laugh, then I’ve accomplished the first goal of this little publication. Every so often, I’ll post some juicy little nuggets about whatever is rattling on in my brain. Some of those nuggets are funnier than others. Every once in a while, a rambling comes out that can be quite serious.
No matter how serious or funny a thought process of mine appears, just be aware that it will be said in a Philadelphia state of mind. What does that mean?
Well, if you know anything about Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, you know that we’re a working class, blue-collar kind of town. We say what we want to, act how we need to and react when it’s necessary. I guess you could call that brutal honesty, which is lacking in many publications these days in my opinion.
That’s what you’re going to get from this: honest truth and opinion. I hope you enjoy it, and I hope you appreciate it sometimes as well.
